(ACUO) has called for the establishment of a regional counter-unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) initiative led by the Australian Department of Defence as part of stepped up engagement with ASEAN and allied nations aimed at offsetting and overcoming a rapid global proliferation of threat systems.

ACUO has lodged a major submission to the Australian Senate References Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade inquiry into Australian Defence Force usage of unmanned systems. The submission sets out 41 recommendations which collectively provide a foundation for a national industrial ecosystem for Defence usage of UAS, with significant emphasis on leveraging the inherent capabilities of the 200 certified operators already trading in Australia.
