ACUO Proposes a National UAS Industry Strategy

ACUO has submitted a 23 point submission to the Australian 2015 Defence White Paper development process, seeking an expanded focus on Australian industry engagement in future Defence UAS capability development. The centrepiece of the submission is a proposal for a national UAS industry strategy, this aimed directly at matching Defence and government decision making on UAS capabilities with Australian manufacturing, support and operations companies. The submission gives particular emphasis to development of new roles for small to medium enterprises working in the UAS sector.

Australia About to Certify its 150th Unmanned Aircraft Operator

A major milestone is about to be recorded by the Australian unmanned aircraft industry with the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) to certify its 150th certified unmanned aircraft system (UAS) Operator this month, a 50% increase in the number of certified UAS Operators since May this year.
